Dental Practice Report Article

For a moment, think about how design can contribute to the success of your practice. The front office and reception areas should be open enough to greet new patients and regulars, while affording your staff the necessary privacy to manage the administrative needs of the office. The business area should be discrete, making patients feel comfortable and secure when discussing financial issues or treatment plans. Like these other areas, the esthetics and functionality of your treatment rooms play a crucial role in the effectiveness—and, ultimately, the profitability—of your business.

1999 JADA Abstract

1999 JADA Articles

Dental Office Planning

Background. A properly planned dental office can contribute directly to the success of your practice. Critical steps in creating a successful dental office environment are developing a design program, determining the size and cost of your facility, selecting a location and assembling the appropriate professionals to help with planning and construction.

Practice Implications. Planning a dental office is a multi-faceted and complex task. For optimal results, you need to completely understand the design and construction process, as no other business activity will demand a greater investment of your time and money.
